My Top Ten Favorite Movies
- 1) Gladiator
- 2) The Empire Strikes Back
- 3) Pulp Fiction
- 4) The Social Network
- 5) The Departed
- 6) Ferris Bueller's Day Off
- 7) The Godfather Part I
- 8) Wedding Crashers
- 9) No Country For Old Men
- 10) The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
- What changed? I don't even remember the last time I thought up this list, but The Social Network made the list, and Independence Day dropped out. LOTR also made it, bumping Inception. The Godfather (I) bumps The Shawshank Redemption. Two good criteria seem to be, 20 years from now, which movies would I love watching, and which movies are the most well done? So combine entertainment with quality.
- 1) Spaghetti & Meatballs
- 2) Dr. Pepper
- 3) Strawberries
- 4) Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 5) Bacon Cheeseburgers
- 6) Pizza
- 7) Steamed Rice
- 8) Buffalo Wings
- 9) Buttermilk Pancakes
- 10) Clam Chowder
- What changed? #1-4 are pretty much locks. I'm also going for a base denominator here, so 'steak' would make it ahead of 'filet mignon' for example. Also, I do love Raspberry Lemonade, but it loses out to Pizza.
- 1) Biological parents (how's that for a unique entry)
- 2) --- #1 counts for 2
- 3) Tina Fey
- 4) Tiger Woods
- 5) Bill Simmons
- 6) Natalie Portman
- 7) Jack Nicklaus
- 8) Rush Limbaugh
- 9) Kate Upton
- 10) Mark Zuckerberg
- 1) Catch-22 - Joseph Heller
- 2) Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince - J.K. Rowling
- 3) Sherlock Holmes collection - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
- 4) The Golf Omnibus - P.G. Wodehouse (short stories)
- 5) Starfighters of Adumar - Aaron Allston
- 6) The Cardinal of the Kremlin - Tom Clancy
- 7) Last Watch - Sergei Lukyanenko
- 8) Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire - J.K. Rowling
- 9) The Match - Mark Frost
- 10) The Dark is Rising - Susan Cooper
- This was a terribly hard list to make. I've read a lot of books, to put it mildly. Unlike movies, where 'quality' was 50% of the thought process, here it was simply, what book would I most want to re-read? There are many.

- 1) Dana Scully - The X-Files
- 2) Sherlock Holmes - Himself
- 3) Hermione Granger - Harry Potter Series
- 4) Fox Mulder - The X-Files
- 5) Darth Vader - Star Wars
- 6) Cosmo Kramer - Seinfeld
- 7) Roger Sterling - Mad Men
- 8) Peggy Olsen - Mad Men
- 9) Yossarian - Catch-22
- 10) Greg House - House M.D.
- What changed? House hung on because he's a memorable character, and I truly enjoyed most of the first seven seasons of the show. Peggy bumped out Jack Donaghy, because I have a weakness for intelligent, ambitious women. If I was shallow, Joan is on the list, obviously. Top of the list is pretty set in stone. Scully is like Peggy Olsen ultimate version, and we continue from there.
